Kennerly Cox House

About

Built sometime in the late 1880’s, the Kennerly Cox House was owned by town founder, J.P. McConnell until 1909 when he sold it to his nephew, “Doc” Kennerly, the town blacksmith and coffin maker. The house passed from the Kennerly family in 1938, changing ownership several times until Doyle and Flora Cox purchased the property in 1957. The Cox family sold the house to the City of Grayson in 2001.

The Kennerly-Cox House now serves as a special-event facility while displaying historical artifacts from Grayson’s past. The house is regularly used for baby showers, birthday parties, graduations, and weddings.
