The City of Grayson plans to adopt the 2026 millage rate at a special called meeting on Monday, August 3, 2026, and is providing residents with opportunities to learn more and share feedback before final adoption. While the proposed rate of 1.985 mills is the same as last year’s millage rate, it represents a 0.2% increase in property tax revenue because of reassessments and additions to the digest. State law requires the city to publish this as a tax increase for this reason.

For the average homeowner, the impact of the proposed increase is minimal. A home with a fair market value of $475,000 would see an estimated annual tax increase of approximately $0.76, while a $450,000 non-homestead property would see an estimated annual increase of approximately $0.72.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the public hearing process and provide input on the proposed millage rate. The city will hold three public hearings at the Grayson Senior Center, 485 Grayson Parkway, Grayson, GA 30017:

For additional information about the proposed millage rate and the City’s budgeting process, residents are encouraged to attend one of the scheduled hearings or contact City Hall.
